Xylem and Gerhardt present the N-REALYZER: setting a new standard in Dumas protein analysis

September 9, 2024

Xylem Lab Solutions is proud to support the release of Gerhardt Analytical Systems' next-generation rapid nitrogen/protein analyzer, the cutting-edge N-REALYZER. This state-of-the-art combustion instrument is designed for precise nitrogen and protein analysis using the Dumas method. As the only solution provider offering both Dumas and Kjeldahl technologies, Xylem and Gerhardt deliver comprehensive solutions to meet all your protein analysis needs.

The debate between Kjeldahl and Dumas methods has long been central to protein analysis. While both methods achieve the same goal – accurate nitrogen/protein quantification – they differ significantly in principle. The Dumas method uses combustion to break down samples and measure nitrogen content rapidly with a thermal conductivity detector. It offers a faster, more environmentally friendly process, eliminating the need for hazardous chemicals. In contrast, the Kjeldahl method, a trusted standard, uses chemical digestion with strong acids to convert nitrogen in samples into ammonia, which is then quantified through titration.

Laboratories can now leverage the speed and efficiency of the Dumas method or maintain access to the time-tested reliability of Kjeldahl from a single provider to ensure all analytical needs are met with precision and reliability.   Depending on your sample matrix and throughput, you may realize the benefit of having both techniques in your laboratory.

To showcase the capabilities of this advanced technology, Xylem will host a live webinar on 24 September. Attendees will gain an in-depth look at how the N-REALYZER can transform laboratory workflows, featuring advanced functionalities such as tool-free sealing, regenerable CO2 adsorbers, simple sample handling for liquid or solid samples, and compliance with ISO 17025 and FDA CFR Part 11, all with user-friendly operation.

Webinar highlights will include an exploration of the N-REALYZER's key features and benefits, a live demonstration of the instrument in action, a comparison between the N-REALYZER and traditional Kjeldahl methods, insights on integrating the N-REALYZER into existing lab workflows, and a Q&A session with industry experts.

This event offers a unique opportunity for professionals to explore the future of protein analysis. Interested individuals are encouraged to register for the webinar and discover how the N-REALYZER can enhance efficiency and accuracy in their laboratory settings.
