Veganz Group partners with HEBA Food to expand plant-based offerings in Switzerland
The Veganz Group AG has signed an exclusive long-term distribution agreement with HEBA Food Holding AG to bring its Mililk oat-based milk alternative and Peas on Earth pea-based meat alternatives to the Swiss market. The partnership will enable Veganz to expand its presence in Switzerland’s food-service and retail sectors, leveraging HEBA Food’s expertise in wholesale distribution.
HEBA Food, a key player in Switzerland’s catering and retail supply chain, generates an annual turnover of 200 million Swiss francs (US$226 million) and specializes in delicatessen and convenience food production. Under the agreement, HEBA Food will distribute Mililk and Peas on Earth products across Switzerland, targeting restaurants, catering companies, and retail outlets.
Switzerland is experiencing increased demand for meat and dairy alternatives, with consumers increasingly shifting toward plant-based diets. According to Statista, the Swiss meat substitute market is projected to be worth €260.8 million (US$282.2 million) in 2025, with expectations to reach €420.1 million (US$454.5 million) by 2030, reflecting an annual growth rate of 9.94%. A separate report by Coop found that 57% of Swiss consumers consciously reduce their consumption of animal products such as meat, dairy, and eggs.
As part of the agreement, HEBA Food will integrate Peas on Earth products into its convenience food offerings, including plant-based schnitzels and burger patties for company catering and the out-of-home market. Peas on Earth products are made from European-grown pea protein, offering a high-protein, soy-free, and wheat-free alternative to conventional meat.
The texturized pea protein comes in mince, chunk, and steak formats and contains up to 80% protein when dry. The products are designed to replicate the firm texture and juiciness of meat, without artificial flavors or additives. The versatility of the pea protein makes it suitable for a range of applications, appealing to both vegan consumers and those reducing their meat intake.
Mililk is an oat-based milk alternative that differs from traditional liquid plant-based milks. Produced using a 2D printing process, it comes in sheet form, allowing for on-demand preparation that reduces transportation, storage, and disposal costs by up to 90% compared to conventional liquid milk alternatives.
Mililk Oat Barista is made from organic wholemeal oats and is designed to be a flexible solution for barista-style coffee, cooking, and dairy-free beverages. The format allows for fresh preparation, ensuring optimal taste and texture while reducing food waste.
Veganz Group, founded in Berlin in 2011, has built a strong reputation in the plant-based food sector, with a portfolio that includes meat and dairy alternatives, snacks, and confectionery. Originally launched as a vegan supermarket chain, the company has since shifted its focus to food production, distributing its products across Germany, Austria, and Switzerland through major retailers such as Edeka, Rewe, Spar International, Rossmann, and Transgourmet.
HEBA Food Holding AG, a family-owned company based in Lenzburg, Switzerland, specializes in food distribution and convenience food production. The company operates seven subsidiaries, focusing on wholesale, catering, and delicatessen products.
