Biospringer acquires PTX Food Corp assets to expand beyond yeast fermentation

May 22, 2026

Biospringer by Lesaffre has acquired selected intellectual property and technology assets from US-based PTX Food Corp as the company expands its fermentation platform beyond yeast-derived ingredients.

Biospringer acquired selected intellectual property, technology, and assets linked to PTX Food Corp’s bacterial fermentation business.
The deal included assets associated with the Bioenhance product line.
Biospringer said the acquisition would support growth beyond yeast fermentation and accelerate development of new food ingredient solutions.

The acquisition included selected assets connected to PTX Food Corp’s Bioenhance product range, alongside bacterial fermentation expertise and associated technology.

Biospringer reported that the deal would strengthen its position in fermentation-based food ingredients and broaden its capabilities beyond yeast fermentation.

The company said the newly acquired bacterial fermentation knowledge would be integrated into its existing industrial network across Brazil, China, Europe, and North America.

Biospringer’s next step will involve transferring the acquired technology and equipment into its global manufacturing network.

PTX Food Corp specialized in bacteria fermentation products for the food ingredient sector.

Biospringer described the acquisition as part of its wider strategy to expand customer-focused solutions spanning taste, nutrition, texture, and preservation.

“At Biospringer, we are driven by a clear vision to inspire joy, nourish communities, and protect our planet through better food for all,” said Carmen Arruda, General Manager at Biospringer.

“This acquisition is fully aligned with our commitment to delivering game-changing products that make a positive impact.”

Arruda added that the acquisition strengthened Biospringer’s ability to combine ingredient innovation and biotechnology platforms while leveraging its international footprint and regional partnerships.

“From ingredient innovation to biotech platforms, from tradition to transformation, Biospringer is poised to be a key player in the industry, leveraging our robust global footprint and strong local collaborations to bring groundbreaking ideas to market and solidify our role as a trusted partner in the pursuit of a more sustainable and nourishing future,” she said.

Biospringer said the acquisition would support the accelerated development of new customer-centric fermented ingredient solutions for the global food industry.

The company added that combining bacterial fermentation technology with its existing operations would create new opportunities across fermentation-derived food ingredients and biotechnology-enabled applications.
