Nepra Foods partners to develop proprietary hemp protein for food innovation

February 24, 2025

Nepra Foods Inc, a specialist in plant-based, allergen-free food solutions, has announced a strategic partnership with an industry expert to develop a proprietary concentrated hemp protein tailored for food applications. Led by Chief Visionary Officer, Chadwick White, this collaboration seeks to deliver high-quality, functional, and nutritious plant-based ingredients to a growing customer base.

The new hemp protein, currently in early production in the USA, is designed to preserve its full nutritional profile and functionality. It offers superior texture, taste, and versatility compared to existing hemp proteins on the market. Initial samples have demonstrated exceptional quality in baked goods, which will be the initial target market. The innovative process behind this protein is slated for a future patent application, with ownership to be shared between Nepra Foods and its partner, though contract terms remain confidential.

Chadwick White commented that hemp protein represents a significant advancement in plant-based nutrition. According to White, the partnership allows Nepra Foods to harness hemp’s unique benefits, including complete protein composition, allergen-free properties, sustainability, and potential as an egg replacement, all while addressing the real demands of its customers. He emphasized that this collaboration is a step toward revolutionizing the future of nutrition, particularly within the baked goods sector.

Hemp protein holds distinct advantages over other plant-based proteins. As a complete protein, it contains all nine essential amino acids, offering a nutritional edge over alternatives like soy and pea protein. It also stands out for its natural absence of common allergens such as gluten, soy, and nuts, making it an ideal choice for inclusive diets. Sustainability is another key benefit, as hemp cultivation requires fewer resources compared to traditional protein sources, aligning with the growing trend among eco-conscious consumers. Additionally, the new hemp protein has been engineered specifically for baked goods, featuring a unique protein gelation that promises seamless integration into breads, pastries, and other bakery products. The versatility of this protein opens up opportunities for broader applications in various food segments.
